Cracked tiles, crumbling grout, and loose or hollow tile don't just look bad — they can signal problems worth fixing before they spread. We repair and regrout tile across St. George and Washington County.
Tile is durable, but it isn't immortal, and a few issues crop up over the years: individual cracked or chipped tiles, grout that's stained, crumbling, or missing, tiles that have come loose or sound hollow, and worn, dingy showers that need refreshing. Some of these are cosmetic and easily fixed; others — like widespread loose tile or recurring grout failure — can point to a substrate or waterproofing problem underneath. We diagnose what's actually going on, fix the cosmetic issues cleanly, and tell you honestly when a deeper problem needs addressing rather than just papering over.
Often a tile installation is structurally fine but just looks tired — grout that's stained, discolored, or cracked makes the whole surface look old even when the tile is good. Regrouting can dramatically refresh a floor, backsplash, or shower for a fraction of replacement cost: we remove the failing grout, clean the joints, and apply fresh grout, and we can re-caulk the changes-of-plane and reseal as needed. We also replace individual damaged tiles, matching them as closely as possible. It's a cost-effective way to make dated or worn tile look years younger.
Sometimes what looks like a grout problem is really a failing installation — loose tile across an area, recurring cracks, or a leaking shower means the substrate or waterproofing has failed, and regrouting won't fix it. We'll give you a straight assessment: if a repair or regrout will genuinely solve the problem and get you years more life, that's what we'll do. If the installation has failed and needs to be redone right, we'll explain why and what it involves, so you spend your money on a real fix instead of a temporary patch.
